This Privacy Policy describes how Cal Check (“we”, “the app”) handles information when you use the Cal Check iOS application. It matches the in-app privacy screen and reflects the app’s actual data flows.
Data stored on device
Your food logs, body profile (sex, age, height, weight, goal), daily calorie goal and avatar are stored only on this device and never uploaded. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Food photos
When you use photo recognition, the photo is sent through the Cal Check server to an AI model solely to produce this recognition result. The server does not keep the photo afterwards.
Barcodes & search
When you scan a barcode or search for food, the barcode/keyword is sent through the Cal Check server to query the public Open Food Facts database, without any of your personal information.
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, the server verifies the identity token issued by Apple and stores your user ID, email and display name for account identification. Food data is not uploaded or linked to your account.
Delete account
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. This permanently removes your user ID, email and display name from our servers and cannot be undone. Food logs and body profile stay on this device until you delete the app.
Third-party SDKs
The app does not include any advertising or analytics SDKs.
Children
Cal Check is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
